Styling curated by Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS SportStyle development team. The UB7-S GT-2160™ sneaker is inspired by the themes of interlocking assemblies, functional utopias and Mino ceramics. Soft textures combine with the idea of handmade elements found in iconic works of art. By creating appearances of matte colors and washes, the design team was able to enhance the shape and archival construction of traditional running shoes. In contrast to grid-like patterns and bold opaque colors, Functional Utopia-inspired variations apply direct correlations to nature. These bright primary color combinations are offset with metallic structures that accentuate the materialization of the double-layered mesh. The designers also explored Mino ceramic influences by investigating contemporary processes for the rust-like qualities that appear in Mino glazes. This process considers the images as a vessel with gradient colors that have the ability to stand the test of time.
