The designers of the first 990 were tasked with creating the best running shoe on the market. The MADE in USA 990v6 stays true to the original legacy and adds a number of performance modifications. The upper dispenses with the classic midfoot piece so that pigskin and synthetic overlays, resting on a mesh underlayer, flow from heel to toe unimpeded. The result is a more streamlined aesthetic that exudes speed. This design represents a departure from the previous version of the 990 series, the biggest change yet between one generation and the next. Not everything is visible to the eye, though. We've incorporated more Fuelcell material in the midsole to make this evolution of the 990 look, but also feel.
