There are two versions of Paris Fashion Week:
The one you see on social media is immaculate. Tailored silhouettes. Perfect lighting. Front rows, champagne flutes, and carefully curated moments.
Then there's the one everyone attending actually lives.
It begins with a map full of pins scattered across the city. One showroom in Le Marais. Another in the 8th. A presentation tucked away behind an unassuming courtyard in the 11th. Every appointment scheduled just close enough together to make you believe it's possible, and just far enough apart to ensure you're always chasing the clock.
Fashion Week quickly becomes less about clothing and more about logistics.
This year, another element dictated the pace: the heat.
Paris was relentless. Pavements radiated warmth, the Metro became an endurance exercise, and every decision revolved around finding shade for just a few extra minutes. Lime bikes became the unofficial vehicle of Fashion Week, weaving through traffic, crossing the Seine, and turning the city into one enormous open-air runway. When the distances became impossible, an Uber wasn't simply transportation—it was recovery.
For once, everyone silently hoped traffic would be terrible.
Not because anyone wanted to arrive late, but because it meant another few precious minutes of air conditioning before stepping back into the furnace.
Yet somehow, that constant movement is what makes Fashion Week unforgettable.
Every journey between appointments becomes an opportunity to stumble upon something unexpected. A café that wasn't on the itinerary. A new gallery opening its doors. An impromptu conversation outside a showroom. Familiar faces spotted halfway across the street before disappearing again into the rhythm of the city.
The collections remain the reason you're there, of course. They always will.
But Fashion Week is equally about everything that happens in between.
The conversations held while waiting for a presentation to begin. The miles covered chasing the next appointment. The exhaustion that slowly replaces adrenaline as the day unfolds, only to disappear the moment another door opens onto another beautifully curated space.
By the end of the week, the routes begin to blur together.
The Lime rides. The long walks. The traffic you secretly welcomed. The city itself becomes part of the collection... Because Paris Fashion Week has never been confined to the showrooms alone. It lives in the journey between them.
