Karhu Fusion XC "Atmosphere": light grey on an outdoor base

Founded in Helsinki in 1916, Karhu, Finnish for "bear", is one of the oldest sports brands in the world. As early as the 1930s its catalogues featured hiking shoes, tents and canoes, and that love of the outdoors still shapes every silhouette today.

The Fusion XC, short for cross-country, draws on several archive models: its taped M logo nods to the 1996 Fusion AP. It features Fulcrum technology, which works like a cradle that keeps forces moving forward, easing pressure on the heel for a smooth, guided ride, plus a toe bumper and a fully gusseted tongue that keeps out dust and dirt.

The Atmosphere/Tarmac colourway pairs an airy light grey with charcoal accents. Bright without being fragile, it lifts dark outfits, wide trousers or technical layers, and works as well in the city as on a weekend outdoors.

Sitting between 90s running heritage and gorpcore spirit, the Fusion XC is one of the models that turned Karhu into one of the most sought-after niche brands where sport meets fashion.
