Adidas Spezial: from the handball court to the terraces

Introduced in 1979 as an indoor handball shoe, the Adidas Handball Spezial soon left the sports hall for the stands. In the 1980s, British football fans made it a cornerstone of terrace culture, alongside other Adidas suede classics. Since 2014, the Spezial line curated by Gary Aspden has carried that heritage forward.
