In 1988 Michael Jordan was thinking about leaving Nike, and the Jordan 3 was the shoe that convinced him to stay. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield, who until then had worked on running shoes, and who listened to Jordan like no one had before: he wanted a lower shoe, comfortable from day one and with a different look. The result was the mid-top collar, soft leather, visible Air and the print that mimics elephant skin. It was the start of a partnership that led to the Air Jordan 4 and many more. The Air Jordan 3 usually fits true to your regular Nike size, so most people get it right without sizing up or down. It’s a little more padded than the Air Jordan 1 and comfortable from the first wear, with almost no break-in period.
