Air Jordan 4 Retro Light Army: the 1989 icon goes utility

Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in 1989, the Air Jordan 4 is one of the defining silhouettes in Jordan history. It is the shoe Michael Jordan wore for 'The Shot', his playoff buzzer-beater against the Cleveland Cavaliers that same year. More than 35 years on, the Jordan 4 keeps reinventing itself, and the Light Army is among its most wearable takes: an original, military-inspired colourway rather than a retro of a vintage scheme, released as a Europe-exclusive.

A light olive Light Army nubuck upper covers most of the shoe, while a deeper shade lands on the outsole, tongue tag and a midsole stripe. The netting, eyelets and collar switch to Light Silver, with Cargo Khaki and Phantom details finishing the palette. All the Jordan 4 signatures are there: the lace 'wings', breathable mesh panels and the visible Air unit in the heel.
