Launched in 2026, the New Balance 983 is not a retro reissue. It is a brand-new silhouette that pulls from New Balance's early-2000s running language and blends cues from the 9060 and the ABZORB 2000 into one sculpted design. Unveiled with a global campaign fronted by Coco Gauff and Aminé, these new New Balance 983 trainers are one of the brand's headline releases of the year.

The headline feature is the elliptical ABZORB SBS pods, a cushioning cue from New Balance's performance heyday, set into a dual-density midsole. Wave moldings run through both the midsole and the outsole for a dynamic profile. Up top, synthetic underlays and rounded overlays frame oval mesh windows at the toe and midfoot, while an oversized N logo on the saddle, a stitch-and-turn collar and reflective hits finish the look.
