Since its arrival in 2025, the ABZORB 2000 has carved out its own space at New Balance: a silhouette that looks to technology rather than the archive, channelling the chunky spirit of early-2000s runners and putting cushioning at the heart of the design. With the Luxe edition, slated for 1 October 2026, the brand takes the model in a more elevated direction. The "Thunder Brown / Pumpernickel" colourway gives it a warm, autumnal feel.

The engineering stays the same: the sole combines full-length ABZORB cushioning with ABZORB SBS pods to absorb impact and keep every stride comfortable. What sets the Luxe apart is its premium materials and more refined detailing, which give this futuristic shape a smarter edge. Deep Thunder Brown and Pumpernickel tones, somewhere between dark chocolate and rye bread, soften the shoe's technical attitude.
