Nike ACG Ultrafly Trail "Racer Blue": a carbon-plated racer built for the long haul

The Ultrafly is Nike's answer to a simple question: what happens when you take the carbon plate off the road and onto the trail? The first Ultrafly was designed for fast mountain ultras, and this refined version now sits under the ACG banner, Nike's All Conditions Gear outdoor line. The brief hasn't changed: go fast, and keep going, often well past marathon distance.

Underfoot you get ZoomX, Nike's lightest and most responsive foam, paired with a full-length carbon-fibre plate. Nike has made the plate less stiff than on the original Ultrafly, giving a more natural ride when the ground gets technical, and the heel has been unwrapped for extra snap. The Vibram Megagrip outsole uses strategically placed lugs for grip on wet terrain, climbs and descents. A breathable mesh upper drains water, the drop is 8.5 mm and the shoe weighs around 287 g in a UK 9.

The Racer Blue/Purple colourway pairs an electric blue with purple hits, unmistakably race-ready and easy to spot at an aid station. Off the start line it works with black running shorts, trail tights or grey outdoor trousers for a proper gorpcore look.

Among carbon-plated trail running shoes, the ACG Ultrafly Trail is aimed at runners training for an ultra or a fast race on fire roads and technical singletrack. It brings road-shoe efficiency without giving up Vibram traction, which is exactly why it has become a reference pick for trail racers.

The Nike ACG Ultrafly Trail "Racer Blue" (HF5668-401) is available on noirfonce.eu, an official Nike retailer since 2015, in EU sizes 37.5 to 47.5, subject to availability. Fast delivery across Europe, secure checkout and pay-in-instalments options. Pick your size and get ready for your next race bib.
