Nike ACG Zegama Trail "Black": Nike's max-cushioned mountain shoe goes all black

The Zegama takes its name from a village in the Basque Country that has become a trail running landmark, and Nike nods to it right down to the GPS coordinates printed on the back of every shoe. First launched in 2022, the Zegama line now returns under the ACG banner, Nike's All Conditions Gear outdoor range, in a version refined with feedback from the athletes of the ACG racing team, who tested it in races around the world.

The midsole is the headline: a generous layer of ultra-lightweight ZoomX foam sits directly underfoot, backed by a layer of Cushlon 3.0 for impact protection and stability. The drop is 4 mm. A Vibram Megagrip outsole with Traction Lug technology bites into mud and wet rock alike. The light, durable mesh upper has a roomier forefoot and toe box so your toes can splay, while a stretchy ankle cuff locks the heel in and keeps grit out.

Black/Anthracite is the most understated colourway in the range, a tonal all-black look that hides mud and trail scuffs. On the hills, wear it with running shorts and a windproof shell; in town, it sits naturally with cargo trousers, black jeans or a technical puffer.

Built for steep climbs, switchbacks and committed descents, the ACG Zegama Trail is Nike's go-to cushioned trail running shoe for long distances and technical ground. In black, it is the most versatile version of the lot, as at home on an ultra as on your weekday loop.
