Nike Air Max 90 "Platinum Tint": the 1990 icon with a perforated grid tongue

Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in 1990 as the Air Max III, the shoe we now know as the Air Max 90 enlarged the visible Air window in the heel and brought sharper, more aggressive lines than its predecessor. Renamed the Air Max 90 later on, it became one of the cornerstones of Nike Sportswear, worn on the street and in sneaker collections for over three decades. This Black / Light Smoke Grey-Platinum Tint colourway gives the icon an unexpected twist.

That twist is the tongue: a grid of chequered perforations runs down its centre, adding a graphic texture that recalls the Air Max 90 Drift. Around it sits the architecture that made the model famous: layered overlays across the upper, a visible Max Air unit in the heel for cushioning and a waffle-patterned outsole for grip. The palette blends black and Light Smoke Grey, while pale Platinum Tint accents with a greenish cast light up the Swoosh and the Air unit.

These men's trainers deliver on the classic Air Max 90 promise: they go with everything.
