Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released in 1982, the Air Force 1 was the first basketball shoe to feature Nike Air technology. Adopted early on by the streets of New York, it went on to become one of the most worn sneakers in the world. With the Air Force 1 '01 line, Nike goes back to an era many collectors see as the model's golden age: proportions and construction take their cue from pairs of the early 2000s, and 2001 in particular.
