Nike Air Force 1 GORE-TEX Vibram “Thunder Blue”: storm-ready colour on the toughest AF1 yet

Nike launched the Air Force 1 GORE-TEX Vibram for holiday 2025 with a first wave in black, white and Clay Green. It is the most hard-wearing upgrade the 1982 icon has ever had: the low-top profile barely changes, while the real work goes into structure, waterproofing and traction. For autumn/winter 2026 the line adds this Thunder Blue colourway.

It starts with a leather upper backed by a GORE-TEX membrane, keeping out rain, sleet and soaked pavements. A Vibram sole replaces the original cupsole with a reworked, deeper lug pattern for better grip on wet cobbles and longer wear. Textured round laces lifted from mountain boots and a padded collar finish the outdoor-ready build. The official Thunder Blue/Obsidian-Speed colourway pairs a bold storm blue with dark Obsidian navy.

That rich blue adds colour to a winter wardrobe without shouting. It works with indigo denim, stone chinos, corduroy or a canvas chore jacket, and stands out nicely against a grey or camel overcoat.
