Sorel x Aries Daystorm Chukka Black: all-black, straight from the underground

Sorel built its reputation on the Caribou, the winter boot that has defined the Canadian brand since it launched in 1962. The Daystorm line brings that heritage to the city, and London label Aries chose it for its second Sorel collaboration after a first release in 2025 that sold out quickly. The Sorel x Aries Daystorm Chukka Black is the darkest reading of the project: a chunky retro silhouette with real roots in subculture.

In the Black, Black colourway, everything goes dark. A soft full-grain leather upper sits alongside a vamp and tongue in short-pile cowhide whose texture shows up under the light, while the collar is trimmed in natural shearling. A leather lining, removable OrthoLite insole, subtly aged heel counter and a lugged Vibram XS Trek EVO outsole on a full-length rand make for a build that lasts, finished with a 40 mm heel.

These black leather chukka boots with shearling slot straight into a monochrome wardrobe: black cargos, washed denim, wide tailored trousers or technical joggers. Throw on a long dark overcoat or a puffer and you are set for the office, a gig or a soggy commute.
