Sorel x Needles Ambler Chukka Waterproof "Ultra Violet": the Caribou dressed in Japanese workwear

Needles, the Japanese label driven by Keizo Shimizu within Nepenthes, made its name with an inventive reworking of American workwear and a purple that has become its calling card. For its first collaboration with Sorel, the Canadian brand founded in 1962 and inseparable from the Caribou boot, Needles reimagines the Ambler line, the lighter, urban expression of that heritage, with a sharp and offbeat eye.

The Ambler Chukka Waterproof takes the Caribou silhouette into a relaxed ankle-height cut. Its soft full-grain nubuck upper is finished with a subtle leather vamp dyed in the same purple. The waterproof construction keeps feet dry in the rain, while an EVA footbed and midsole paired with a ground-contact EVA outsole deliver lightweight, all-day comfort. The Ultra Violet/Black colourway plays a muted purple off against black.

These men's boots work with wide-leg trousers, cargos, painter pants or raw denim for a confident workwear look. Worn with a chore jacket or a dark parka, they become the hit of colour that carries the whole outfit.
