Vans LX Authentic 44 Atiba Pink: Atiba Jefferson's lens on the very first Vans

The Authentic is where it all began: launched in 1966 as Style 44, it was the very first Vans model, a simple canvas shoe quickly adopted by California skaters. This LX Authentic 44 Atiba is the work of Atiba Jefferson, the legendary skate photographer who came up through Transworld, now shoots for Thrasher and is also known for his images of the Lakers and the NBA. Named Brand Curator of OTW by Vans in 2024, he created the United Through Skateboarding collection, celebrating the connections skateboarding builds.

The Atiba Pink colourway covers the original silhouette in all-over pink. The footbed carries an archival photo of skater Arisa Trew shot by Atiba, while the custom logos on the upper were designed by Los Angeles artist Lauren Halsey, a friend of the photographer. The premium line adds a removable Sola Foam ADC insole for all-day comfort, glossy sidewalls, higher foxing tape and throwback branding.
