Adidas Pokémon Superstar II "Charmeleon": the shell toe gets its claws out

Pokémon turned 30 this year. The franchise began on 27 February 1996, when Pokémon Red and Green landed on Game Boy in Japan, and Adidas Originals marked the anniversary in September 2026 with a sneaker collection built around first-generation favourites. Charmeleon, the fiery middle stage between Charmander and Charizard, takes over the Superstar, the shell-toe basketball shoe that first hit the court in 1969 and later became a hip-hop staple.
