Adidas SST Adicolor Denim Tracktop: the cult track top goes black denim

Since Adi Dassler founded it in Herzogenaurach in 1949, Adidas has shaped sports culture, and later streetwear, with a handful of genuine icons. The SST track top, short for Superstar, is one of them: born as tracksuit kit, it moved over the decades from the pitch to the hip-hop stage and became a cornerstone of the Adidas Originals wardrobe. Within the Adicolor line, which celebrates the brand's classics, this Denim version reinvents the silhouette in an unexpected fabric.

Denim replaces the usual tricot, giving a more structured drape, a rawer hand-feel and a character that develops with wear. Every element of the SST DNA remains: full-length zip, stand-up collar, the signature 3-Stripes down the sleeves and the Trefoil logo on the chest. The True Black Denim colourway brings an understated, modern depth, well away from the expected indigo blue.

Style this men's jacket open over a white tee and relaxed jeans, finished with Superstar or Samba trainers for a nod to the archive. Go full black denim for a sharper, fashion-led look, or layer it over a hoodie as the perfect transitional piece.

Sitting between a track top and a denim jacket, the SST Adicolor Denim Tracktop ticks every box for a premium streetwear wardrobe: strong heritage, hard-wearing fabric and everyday versatility. It revisits a classic without losing what made it one. If you already own the classic tricot version, this is the more grown-up, harder-wearing alternative with the same attitude.
