Asics Gel-1130 White/Storm Cloud: a late-2000s runner in soft cloud grey

Asics first released the Gel-1130 in 2008 as an affordable stability running shoe, the ninth instalment of the GEL-1000 series. Its design took direct cues from the Gel-Kayano 14, launched the same year. Brought back in 2021 on the wave of the Kayano 14's comeback, it has since become one of the key silhouettes of Asics SportStyle. The White/Storm Cloud colourway keeps things clean and calm, pairing crisp white with a soft, cloudy grey.

The upper blends breathable mesh with recycled synthetic overlays that trace the sharp, layered lines of late-2000s runners. Underfoot, GEL cushioning in the heel absorbs impact for a softer step, while the TRUSSTIC system carried over from the original running shoe adds midfoot stability. The midsole stays true to the retro tooling of the model.

Style-wise, these unisex Asics trainers work with baggy jeans, grey cargos or technical shorts once the weather warms up. The neutral palette sits easily with a hoodie, a windbreaker or a trench coat for a sharper city look, and it moves from a relaxed office day to weekend wandering without missing a beat.

Halfway between performance heritage and everyday streetwear, the Gel-1130 White/Storm Cloud is one of the easiest retro running sneakers to wear right now. It is a low-key pick that leans on comfort and a Y2K mood without trying too hard, and it fits into any wardrobe, whoever is wearing it.

On noirfonce.eu, find the Asics Gel-1130 White/Storm Cloud in sizes 36 to 40, plus 44.5, 46 and 46.5, with fast delivery across Europe and secure payment in instalments.
