Sorel x Needles Ambler Waterproof Clog "Ultra Violet": a Canadian clog seen through a Tokyo lens

Needles, the Japanese label created by Keizo Shimizu within Nepenthes, is known for its offbeat take on American workwear, its butterfly logo and a strong love of purple. For its very first collaboration with Sorel, the Canadian brand founded in 1962 and famed for the Caribou boot, Needles takes on the Ambler line, the lighter, urban expression of that heritage, and gives it an instantly recognisable signature.

The Ambler Waterproof Clog translates the Caribou silhouette into a streamlined, open-back mule that slips on in seconds. Its soft full-grain nubuck upper, finished with a leather shell at the toe, sits on a fully waterproof construction. The Needles butterfly logo is debossed on the upper, while an EVA footbed and midsole paired with a ground-contact EVA outsole keep things light and cushioned. The Ultra Violet/Black colourway sets Needles' deep purple against black.
